Sea Isle City Library
Sea Isle City's library moved into a new building at 4800 Central Ave in 2011. The old library building on JFK Blvd was small and cramped. The new 13,583 square foot library building is state of the art with wide open spaces and high ceilings. The library houses over 16,000 books for adults and over 8,000 children's books. The library's collection also includes numerous DVDs, CDs and video games. The building is fully WiFi enabled and there are also several computers available for the use of patrons.
The Sea Isle Library is Cape May County's first certified Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design building. The energy efficient library includes LED lighting, low flow water fixtures, and lights that automatically dim when sun shine fills the room. A geothermal system uses the constant 55 degree temperature of the ground water to help heat and cool the building efficiently. The library has large windows that look out over the wetlands and Sea Isle's back bay. And if you really want to enjoy the cool sea breezes while reading a book, the second floor deck spans the length of the building. There are also one large and one small community meeting rooms. In addition the ground floor of the library includes the Sea isle City Historical Museum. The Sea Isle Library is branch of the Cape May County Library which provides access to a wealth of additional information and services. |
