The new development on the site of LaCosta, dubbed "The Ludlam" ,will go before the Sea Isle City Zoning Board this June, the city has announced.
The Development, is being lead by Christopher Glancey, and his business partner Bob Morris, who also lead the redevelopment projects including The Dunes Complex in Townsends Inlet.
Many Sea Isle residents and visitors where shocked when Glancey and Morris announced they had purchased the LaCosta property this past summer for a reported $7.3 million.
According to Sea Isle News.com, "The Ludlam" Project is set to include an indoor/outdoor bar, a restaurant as well as 20 apartments and 26 hotel suites on the 1.25 acre site.
The project is seeking 1 variance from the board regarding the buildings height. The developers are asking the board to approve them a variance to allow them to build slightly above the 40 foot height maximum allowed.
The board will meet July 1, 2019 at 7 pm in City Hall. Public Comment will be allowed on the development application.
As for the development project, if variances are approved by the board, the developers plan to demolish the LaCosta Complex after this October when the lease ends for the property. The construction will take a full year and the new complex does not plan to open until Fall 2021.
