Traffic has been bumper to bumper leaving Sea Isle since 10:30 am and is likely to continue into the evening as people leave ahead of Tropical Storm Hermine. Traffic at Landis Ave and JFK was all but gridlocked as in the picture below. The Garden State Parkway is bumper to bumper from south of Avalon to the Atlantic City Expressway. Businesses are still open getting all the Labor Day weekend business that they can since Sea Isle is predicted to be under water for most of the day tomorrow. However some businesses were starting to get ready. The surf has retreated quite a bit now that it is almost low tide, but the ocean is very rough and still well above its usual low tide level. There has already been a lot of beach erosion and much more is expected at high tide tonight and all day tomorrow.
